"Juicy" is a great description for this iteration of the Lonesome Spring Ranch GSM. At 36% Grenache, 44% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre the blend has a lush, rich black raspberry character. 73 cases produced. 91 pts JS

Block Two Syrah is a unique gravelly promontory facing southwest atop Snipes Mountain. Battered by the elements the vines produce a limited crop of intense, distinctive fruit. Blackberry, violet, cocoa and dried cherry are characteristic of the wines as well as a lush, structured palate. The 2015 vintage was warm and early and deft decisions to mobilize harvest and picking at optimal ripeness resulted in a wine that combines the power of the 2014 and the finesse of the 2013. 91 pts WE & JS

Block Five Syrah is sited on a southeast facing slope between 1300 and 1370 feet in elevation, midway up the highest vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA. The TC 99 clone Syrah ripens 10 to 14 days later than the standard Washington clone and is characterized by its darkness, density and intensity. 2016 was memorable as a break from several warmer vintages and this Syrah shows impeccable balance.
